One has to find it interesting when scientists and experts, the people who are supposed to help us understand the world, end up making it seem more "swampy."

To answer your question, no, his thesis is no different from Watson's recent comments.

Put that together with (1) educational statistics for minority students in America and Europe and (2) the increasing gap between those who work for a living and those on the goverment dole, and wer're treading into some very swampy territory.

(His paper was called “Who’s Afraid of the Naturalistic Fallacy?” to which I would reply, “you should be.”)

*laugh* Awesome.

Oliver Curry has a Wikipedia page, mostly because of his appearance in Dawkins's "Root of All Evil?" documentary. It is marked for deletion because "no tenure, no publication, nothing at all - just a newly minted polsci PhD." From what little I have read of his paper, I think he has a fundamental misunderstanding of G.E. Moore's philosophy which is unfortunate since he has spent most of his time trying to refute Moore's philosophy. (His paper was called "Who's Afraid of the Naturalistic Fallacy?" to which I would reply, "you should be.")

I suspect it wasn't a gag, so much as this is a young man enchanted with his newly found voice and thrilled to be given money in order to write up his science fiction fantasies.

That seemed to be the question the article was asking. One has to wonder whether it (the study) was a gag.

Morlocks and Elloi?

How much did they pay this guy? There should be an immediate investigation.
