Joanna--

I know what you mean. *sigh* I think what finally ended the Obama fascination for me was the <a href="http://www.dipdive.com/dip-politics/wato/" rel="nofollow">Will.I.Am Dipdive video</a>.

Till then I thought he was a nice guy with bad politics. Now I think he's a nice guy with bad politics and a disturbing ability to turn his followers into zombies (even if unintentionally).

I like to vote based on who scares me less. *grin* That criterion, of course, will lead to different conclusions for different people. But there it is.

Andrew--

At least I can congratulate myself on knowing there was a problem, even if I didn't know the solution. Thanks for the info (I love this kind of linguistics stuff, even if I'm pretty clueless about a lot of it)!

It should be "some friends and we." The pronoun is the subject of the sentence and takes the nominative case. It should probably be “I’ve been wondering about that too, I." However, this is much more controversial. The pronoun here is in the vocative case and English pronouns don't have a vocative (for obvious reasons). I would default to the nominative. (In most languages, the vocative follows the nominative rather than the accusative.)

I'm so annoyed at all of my friends who think Obama is the new Jesus. I really wish he were, because he's just so darn GOOD at the whole savior-and-friend act. (Maybe he's the antichrist!)

I'm anxious about the election to the point of apathy (possible? Yes.)...Is it more responsible of me to vote for "the lesser of two evils" or to simply not vote at all? Everyone says to definitely vote but honestly I'm not sure that's the best choice...I don't want to personally endorse either candidate. By not voting I know I give up my right to complain about the administration, but I don't complain anyway so...

Bah! Stupid politics.

<em>Should it be, "Some friends and we . . . got into a discussion . . . ."</em>

I've been wondering about that too, Me.

Or is it, "I've been wondering about that too, I"?
