The Classic Three

I just realized something. Made a connection, that is. I’m surprised I hadn’t realized it before.
I just realized that “Sex, Drugs, and Rock-n-Roll” is just the modern version of “Wine, Women, and Song.”
It’s just that the “Sex” and “Drugs” are out of order.

Of course, the other “Classic Three” is “Guitars, Guns, and Girls.” But guns aren’t so different from wine and drugs. All of them are about the (power) trip/rush.
Makes you wonder why these three things keep showing up as the three things that mark the good/wild life.

I think I was thinking about this because of the Prodigal Son’s “riotous living.”
I’ve been listening to Tim Keller’s free sermons, you see, and he’s got a great series on the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
Another great free series of sermons he has online is his series that parallels his book, The Reason for God. Got worries or questions about problems with/objections to Christianity? I’d suggest listening to that series/reading the book. Good stuff.

I concur on the Tim Keller stuff. :)
*Mr. Burns voice* Excellent.
You Ritters have had a good influence on me, it seems.
