Speaking of Advil

I’m really starting to get annoyed with United Airlines’s adds too (he said, during an Olympics Commercial Break).
They’re so bizarre.
And they’re ruining one of the greatest musical pieces of all time by associating it with such bizarreness.

Are You All Oatmeal?

After I got married, I started having Mondays. So I got bacon for breakfast.
But then I started having Tuesdays too. So I got another breakfastfood: Eggs.
After a while, a Wednesday showed up, and I had to take waffles for that!
For each day, I had a different breakfastfood.
But then I switched, and now I’m all oatmeal. [...]

Drudge Is Not Alone

The New York Times does it too.
I was reading this shockingly unemotional piece on Rush Limbaugh yesterday, and saw the following adverts in the sidebar. The top one is fine, and is included just for reference:

I love the “Advertise on NYTimes.com” part the best. Would you advertise on NYTimes.com if they can’t even get their [...]

Another Drudge Classic

Does this kind of thing happen on any other major site?:

You may remember this collection of similar goofs from the Drudge Report.
And for my other posts on amusing internet advertisements, see here.

[cf. here, here, here, and here]
Consider the following:

First, the irony in the NRO/The Liberal Store advert is so thick, you could cut it with a knife
Second, why entice people to vote either Yes or No regarding Obama by offering them an Obama t-shirt? If they’re not going to vote for Obama, they won’t want a [...]

How Does Drudge Make Money?

If you visit the Drudge Report, you’ll no doubt have noticed how often the advertisements aren’t displayed properly. Frequently, adverts appear in spaces that are too small for them, leaving parts (sometimes large parts) of the advert undisplayed.
Take the following screenshots for example:

Included above you see partially-displayed advertisements for classmates.com, Fisher Investments, American Apparel Store, [...]

Another Amusing Advertisement

Anyone else not believe the following advertisement (which appeared while I was checking my e-mail)?

(It’s from YourGiftZone.com.)
I’m pretty sure I’m not the 10,000th visitor to Yahoo! Mail. 10,000,000th maybe?

A Little Fun with NRO

On National Review Online, one of American conservatism’s most prestigious sites — and one I frequently enjoy — I’ve encountered the following ironic advertisements recently:

(The sites in these adverts are TheLiberalStore.com, (the liberal) AARP’s DividedWeFail.org, and federalcarbontax.org.)
And that reminded me of something I’ve found ironic about the site itself. “What’s wrong with the following pictures?”

Five terrible commercials:
1. A radio spot for Ameal BP
A woman asks a man why he’s looking glum, and he says his doctor told him to “get serious” about his blood pressure. The woman says her doctor said the same thing to her. (Of course. For once I’d like to hear a commercial where the interlocutor [...]

What Were They Thinking?

I’m not one of those people who sees phallic imagery (would that be “phallicity”?) everywhere. But I’m suspicious of this advertisement that just showed up in my Yahoo! Mail sidebar:

As opposed to someone else’s? As opposed to letting someone else do it for you, like you’ve been doing up to this point? As opposed [...]
