I’ll be teaching “The Classical Mind” once again at CUA, but this time to non-first-year students. It’ll be my sixth Fall in a row teaching the course, and I love it every time I do (even though my specialty is actually in modern philosophy). It is a real privilege to get to introduce students to Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, and Aquinas.

At UMD, I’ll be teaching “Existentialism.” I am very excited about this. We’ll cover Dostoevsky, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre, and Camus (as well as Jaspers, Ortega, and Kafka, I hope). I’ll also be functioning as my own TA for all three discussion sections, so that should be very interesting. I foresee Gilbert and Sullivan-esque debates between me and myself. The debates, of course, will all be performed in song.

My contracts at both universities are only for the Fall, so I still need to find employment for the Spring. But, one step at a time.

I’m very much looking forward to becoming “Dr.” Tillman, but I’m also very much looking forward to continuing to do what I love: teaching, writing, and researching philosophy.
