I just got back from my local polling place. It was so much fun.
Fred Thompson is still on the ballot in Maryland. So I voted for Thompson. (*uproarious laughter*) But not only is Thompson on the ballot, you have to vote for delegates to the Convention separately.

Now that Romney has dropped out, there’s no alternative to McCain.
This is all a very fascinating situation. I think the GOP is crumbling.

Current national democracies (in America, Britain, Iraq, etc.) depend on the concept of “representation.” To represent is to re-present, to make present (again).
We use the same word of pictures and attorneys.
A picture presents how a person is/was/looks/looked. It makes a person present (again) by embodying his/her appearance.
