Pixel Art

I’ve been working on 2020’s @septemBIT challenge. The basic idea is that you were supposed to draw a series of animals using only black and white pixels. Furthermore, each image had to be limited to a width of 16 pixels and a height of 16 pixels.

To create the images and animations, I’m using Aseprite.

So, here are the animals I’ve drawn so far:

A pixelated animation of a dog, drawn in white pixels on a black background. The dog is trotting, facing the right. While it trots, it looks back and forth alertly. A pixelated animation of a cat, drawn in white pixels on a black background. The cat is sitting, with its tail curled around itself. It flicks the end of its tail, then flicks its left ear. After flicking its ear, it looks up and to its left as if looking for what bothered its ear. A pixelated animation of a mouse, drawn in white pixels on a black backgorund. The mouse sniffs, then turns around, settles down into a blob, then rolls over and stands up again. A pixelated animation of a pig. The pig is drawn in white pixels on a black background. The pig leans over to snuffle the ground, while curling and uncurling its tail. A pixelated animation of a frog. The frog inflates its vocal sac, then crouches down, jumps A pixelated animation of a snake. The snake is drawn in white pixels on a black background. The snake looks at the camera, then slithers off screen to the left. The snake's head then appears on the bottom right side of the A pixelated animation of a turtle, drawn in white pixels on a black background. The turtle crouches, hops into the air, and lands. While in the air, it retracts its head and legs. After landing, it re-emerges from its shell, and bobs up and down a bit in excitement, ready to jump again. A pixelated animation of a cow, drawn in white pixels on a black background. The cow leans down to graze on some grass, which is blowing in the wind. There also appear to be some trees behind the cow which also blow gently in the wind. A pixelated animation of an owl sitting on a branch. The owl flutters its feathers, as if shivering, and then moves its head in a vertically-oriented circle as if trying to see the viewer from multiple angles A pixelated animation of an elephant. The elephant is drawn in white pixels on a black background, facing the camera. The elephant appears to be running directly at the camera, flapping its ears, and swinging its trunk from side to side.
